Couples Therapy in California

Expert couples therapy, available anywhere in California.

You don't need to live near a major city to get great couples therapy. I work with couples throughout California via secure video sessions—same quality, same depth, no commute.

Why Online Couples Therapy Works

Many couples are surprised by how well video sessions work. You're in your own space, comfortable, without the stress of driving to an office. For many couples, this actually makes it easier to open up.

Video sessions also solve a practical problem: finding a therapist who's a good fit. If you live in a smaller town or rural area, your local options may be limited. Online therapy means you can work with a specialist, not just whoever happens to be nearby.

I've worked with couples from San Diego to Redding, from the Bay Area to the Central Valley. The work is the same whether you're in my office or on a screen.

Who I Work With

I specialize in couples who are:

  • Stuck in the same arguments and ready for something different

  • Recovering from infidelity and wondering if trust can be rebuilt

  • Disconnected and wanting to feel close again

  • Preparing for marriage and wanting to start strong

  • Considering separation and wanting clarity before deciding

I also offer intensive therapy—extended sessions over one to three days—for couples who want faster progress or prefer a concentrated format.

My Approach

I use a differentiation-based approach, grounded in the work of David Schnarch. This means we focus on helping each of you grow as individuals, not just improving your communication skills.

Most couples come in hoping I'll fix their partner. What they discover is that the path to a better relationship runs through their own growth. When two people become more solid in themselves, the relationship transforms.

How It Works

Regular sessions are 50 minutes, scheduled weekly or biweekly.

Intensive sessions are three to four hours per day, spread across one to three days. These are ideal for couples who want accelerated progress or who are traveling from further away.

Both formats are available via secure video.

Pricing

Regular 50-minute sessions: $250

Frequently Asked Questions

Is online therapy as effective as in-person? For couples therapy, yes. Research supports this, and my experience confirms it. The key is having a private space where you won't be interrupted.

What technology do I need? A computer, tablet, or phone with a camera and decent internet connection. I use a secure, HIPAA-compliant video platform.

What if we want to meet in person? I see clients in person at my Roseville office. If you're within driving distance, we can do a mix of in-person and video sessions.

Do you take insurance? I'm an out-of-network provider. I can give you documentation to submit for reimbursement if your plan covers out-of-network mental health services.
