Intensive Marriage Therapy

Intensive Marriage Therapy is 3 hours of therapy per day, for four days in a row. It’s helpful for couples who want to make big changes in their relationship and are ready to work hard. I’ve seen couples make months of progress in only four days.

Here are a few ways I can help you during intensive marriage therapy:

  • We'll look at how your past affects your relationship. You'll learn how your childhood experiences and past relationships are shaping the way you act now. For example, if you grew up with parents who were always fighting, you might be more likely to argue with your partner. You'll understand yourself better and see your own patterns more clearly. We can use techniques like revisualizations where you relive old memories to help you understand and process your emotions. This can help you break free from negative patterns that you learned in childhood.

  • You'll learn to be more confident and independent. This means being able to stand up for yourself and not always needing your partner's approval. We'll work on building your "Solid Flexible Self" so you can be strong and confident without being rigid or controlling. This will help you feel more secure in yourself and in your relationship.

  • You'll learn to communicate like a pro. This means being able to say what you need and want in a clear and respectful way. We'll practice active listening and learn how to give and receive feedback without getting defensive. Good communication is the key to a strong and healthy relationship.

  • You'll learn to handle conflict in a healthy way. Disagreements are normal, but they don't have to turn into huge fights. You'll learn how to manage your emotions, communicate effectively, and find solutions that work for both of you.  You will learn to disagree more maturely instead of escalating into angry outbursts or shutting down completely.

  • You'll reignite the passion in your relationship! We'll talk about ways to deepen your emotional connection and make your sex life more exciting. You might try new things in the bedroom and feel more comfortable talking about your desires. We'll work on building emotional intimacy, exploring your sexual desires, and creating a fulfilling and passionate connection.

  • You'll make progress faster. Because intensive therapy involves several sessions in a row, you can work through things more quickly than you would in traditional therapy. This helps you build momentum and stay focused on your goals.

Intensive therapy is a powerful way to create lasting change in your relationship. It takes hard work, honesty, and a willingness to be vulnerable. The goal isn't to "fix" either of you; it's to help you become a stronger, more connected couple.

How to get started: Please schedule a standard 50-minute session with me, and let me know you’re interested in intensive therapy. We’ll go from there!
