If you live outside California, we can still work together by video. Outside California, what I offer is relationship coaching instead of therapy.

The difference between therapy and coaching

I’m a licensed marriage and family therapist in California (LMFT #142990). Within California, I’m licensed to diagnose and treat mental illness as well as work with relationships.

Outside California, I can help you with your relationship, but I can’t diagnose or treat a mental illness.

That’s the only difference.

Why I call it coaching

I’m not licensed as a psychotherapist outside California, so I can’t advertise my services as psychotherapy outside California.

What I can do is have a conversation with you about how to improve your relationship, without diagnosing any mental illness.
